Can you believe it’s almost December? In our family, we always had a first of December tradition of going out to a store and buying each kid their own Advent calendar to count down the days until Christmas. Midwest Living has done this tradition one better with their fun DIY Advent calendar created with a few simple Paper Source items!
Materials:
- Baby #1 Envelopes (shown in Red)
- Eco-White 1.25″ Round Labels
- White Mini Clothespins
- Cotton Wrapping Twine
- Scissors
- Black Marker
Instructions
- Print numbers on our printable labels or write them in with a marker.
- Tuck a small treat or toy inside the envelopes.
- Seal each one with a numbered sticker.
- Hang envelopes on string using mini clothespins.
- Display across a mantel, doorway or banister– or above a child’s bed as a festive headboard!
This is a great, simple craft for kids but we think it’s even more fun to keep the contents of the Advent calendar a surprise! What would you put inside your envelopes?
There is also a Paper source mention in this december’s issue of Country living.
My mom can’t have any of the good candy anymore, so I printed pictures of things that will remind her of Christmases past and put them in each of the envelopes.
Thanks Paper Source!
