We have royal baby fever and knew we had to celebrate! Luckily, our friend and event planner Jen of Girl Meets Party knew just how to celebrate with us.  Inspired by a simple blush and gold color palette, Jen shows us how to throw a baby shower fit for a prince or princess.

What better way to celebrate the latest addition to the royal family than with a royal baby shower?!  Meghan Markle is due oh so soon so the timing was perfect!  While we didn’t see too many details from Meghan Markle’s shower, I can only assume it was stunning and elegant.  Paper Source recently added these adorable pink teacups to their store sets.  When I saw them, I knew they had to be part of the royal baby shower.

Designing the theme

I’m a sucker for a simple blush and gold baby shower so I immediately gravitated towards those colors based on the teacup.  However, if you look closely, there’s a pop of navy in the teacup, too!  So, I added a navy napkin to the table to tie it all together.  Keeping everything light, bright and springy was certainly the goal.  Finding the right invitation is also key.  The primrose invitation fits perfectly!

Setting the table

Elegant china was a must-have for this shower.  Lenox is always my go-to for china, and I adore the golden waterfall line they’ve designed.  It’s simple yet adds to the table decor.  I love to add something fun to the salad plate that brings decor to the table.  Enter the giant tissue paper blooms!  They were too perfect for the table.  Then, I found yellow ranunculus, light pink spray roses, and white roses to create a stunning vase. Plus, don’t forget about place cards!  Hand lettered place cards are my favorite.  One of my favorites is from my baby announcement brunch.  I also love the Quickie Glue from Paper Source, which you can use with embossing powder.

Creating the royal baby shower menu

A tea time baby shower calls for tea-themed food, right?  Little tea sandwiches are a must-have and so easy to prepare.  When hosting a baby shower, it’s crucial to ensure all food is pregnancy friendly.  Plus, I always create a veggie option.  My recommendation is a chicken salad with grapes and cucumber and dill cream cheese sandwiches.  Placing them on a tower cues high-tea and is perfect for guests to nibble throughout the party.
